RIP FontFont.de

Drat! The quick, clean, agreeable fontfont.de is dead! If we ever want to eye the beauty of FontFont’s wares again we must wade through a slow, brutish, unlinkable, gif-littered, frame-fettered, fontfont.com — an unforgiving beast who forces each innocent fontfontlover to view the City Streets through a distant keyhole and see Dolores as if at a peepshow.

Sure, we can fall back on Google’s cache. But for how long? New FF releases won’t be posted to a retired site.

Why, Mr. Spiekermann? Why?! There aren’t interrobangs enough to express my frustration.

I see that in six years, not much has changed on the fontfont site. Still using tables, animated gifs and frames.

Pity really. A good product poorly presented :(
