Neutraface Sneak Preview
A couple of months ago, Christian Schwartz’s latest type design for House Industries appeared in his own Orange Italic magazine. Now House offers a better look at the upcoming family in their introduction to the Neutra Boomerang Chair.
Reminiscent of the recent FB Relay and HTF Gotham, Neutraface is an exagerrated Nobel with nods to Bauhaus and architectural lettering.

no, dion neutra (richard's son) has been involved from the very beginning. this project is actually house with an (almost) straight face. the full set of accented characters for setting esperanto... well, there's a bit of humor in that. mr. schwartz | Aug 9, 2002 09:29 AM

there's a lot of back & forth with those guys. andy cruz art directs, ken art directs, we discuss things, we send drawings and files back and forth. it's all very collaborative, which i think works out well in the end, because their background is much more in lettering and mine is in type design, so we try to end up with final products that have the flavor of lettering but the functionality of type. mr. schwartz | Aug 9, 2002 11:53 AM
