Real 3D typePapercut is a modern font designed specifically for use in three-dimensional environments. Instead of taking an existing font and giving it three-dimensional characteristics, Papercut is carved out of a physical shape. The resulting letterforms are all recognizable when viewed from a particular angle. Each letter’s rotation is an important feature of this font, although the designer who uses it has the freedom to use any rotation they want. I found Papercut while going through this year's winners of the AIGA 365 Annual of Design. I couldn't find much else about it, but this other screenshot makes me act like a cat waiting for his can of tuna to be opened. I did a Google search and this kid seems to be getting a lot of attention for that piece of work. Posted by Armin Vit | October 18, 2002 | LINK
