Vitus, Bully, and Farao from FountainFountain, masters of display type, just announced December releases that include an endearing puppy, an aged slab, and an interesting titler whose leaning ‘O’ immediately brought to mind an old favorite in Maximillian. Vitus has a remarkable history and marks the entry of Sylvia and Daniel Janssen to the Fountain library. Their Büro für Gestaltung Janssen is the foundry in our current Unseen sidebar.

who knew about Büro für Gestaltung Janssen!
Wonderful work!
Sorry - but i don't pay any attention to the right hand side of your page due to the silly tiny font size and the overall design. It's all very well having restraint and all that - but frankly i won't pay any attention to this stuff unless you clearly and unequivocally make your case and shout it out with color, size and shape. Use typography on this site! Make us pay attention to this stuff amongst all the noise of the other places to go on the web. None of the other type weblogs effectively put type samples in amongst the news and links - and so I'm sure there's an advantage to be exploited if you put the work in. (And it doesn't require you to buy the fonts you cover as all you need to do is grab the images from the sites - either as gifs or as screen grabs.)

Martin - I've wrangled with the idea of adding more images and ornamentation for a long time, but I always got the impression our readers appreciate the quick-loading spare design and focus on text content. Maybe that's changed. Suggestions are always welcome in my mail box.

Don't even try to listen to Martin Archer.
Typographica (and Google) are actually the only web pages not making me nervous!
If he does not care enough to read what's to be read (like there are millions of paragraphs!), it's not your fault...
Ciao
