Doyald Young: The Art of the Letter

Typography legend Doyald Young will be speaking at AIGA Los Angeles in January about his new book, The Art of the Letter — with lecture attendees all receiving a complimentary copy. What’s not to like about that? Young also has an essay on Jan Van Krimpen at the AIGA-LA site, complete with a PDF download of the essay and the Van Krimpen face Lutetia.

Doyald's new book (actually mostly a compilation from his two big ones) is wonderful - actual good type advice, and stellar production.

BTW, the MoCA also has a Gehry exhibit going until the end of January.

Hrant, just curious, did you already get a copy of
the new book somehow?

Yeah. Doyald recently invited me for a visit (and lunch - the gentleman that he is), and plonked a copy on me! (Caveat: I'm not sure what "plonking" is, exactly.)
