FontShop Keywording Update

FontShop updates us on their keywording program, which is now nearing the end of phase one. A trip to TYPO Berlin is still up for grabs. Their message is below.

To all the font-a-holics who have participated in the FontShop Keywording Project: Thank you from all of us at FontShop!

A message from Erik Spiekermann:

I can't believe that there are typomaniacs out there who are as infected as I am, or even more so. We had 626 type lovers from 41 countries describe more than 14,775 fonts with keywords. (We still have a few to go and for those of you who are continuing to the bitter end after March 31st, there will still be fonts as a thank you as well as another draw for a TypeCon ticket.)

While the winner of the grand prize will be going off to Berlin and Holland soon, I want to say to all of you that you have done amazing work! I thought we would never get this mammoth task done at all, let alone in just a few months. For me, it is great to know that there are so many of you … well … freaks out there. I am not alone! Your great example will show more people the way to enjoying type and typography until there will be no more excuses for using Arial. Keep spreading the disease!

This is the last week of keywording before the Grand Prize Draw! You are eligible if you have keyworded 50 fonts or more. You still have time (until March 31st) to do this if you haven't reached the minimum yet!

Additional prize: Those who can do more than 150 fonts will be entered into a separate draw to win a free ticket for one to this year's TypeCon conference in San Francisco in July. We'll hold this drawing on April 30th to give you more time to work up to 150 if you haven't already.

How to continue keywording after March 31st:
The project and font rewards will continue after the drawing.

1. log on to the database: http://kw.fontshop.com
2. click on the "settings" link in the right hand lower corner
3. click on the check box that says "Yes! I would like to continue keywording after March 31st.
4. provide your phone number in the field below the check box
5. click on the "update" button
