Schwartz's Mass Appeal

Brooklyn "urban lifestyle" mag Mass Appeal interviewed Christian Schwartz. Best quote:

"Kinko's started using Neutraface for all their little signs, and it totally irritated me because every time I go in there, it's like I'm talking to myself."

Incidentally, there's a House Industries spot on that page for Neutraface condensed, but it's not at their site yet. I guess we can assume it’s on the way very soon.

Aw, geez. I’ve been scooped!

April 16? You scooped us, Mr. Gordon. Nice spot. Must be mere days away now. OK, that's enough -- we're just a couple posts short of becoming fontrumors.com.

That's wonderful news. I bought the full set right after it was released, and have used it in several projects from websites to soap labels. One of my favorite fonts (with awesome packaging to boot) to date.

Way better than the recent piece on Mr Schwartz (Metropolis? -- recently slagged [the mag that is, not the designer] on this site by yours truly).

Nice format, solid journalism -- a picture of the subject plus text that's built on a CV, enriched with quotes from the interview and some knowledable exposition (eg re Erik S.) The major work mentioned is shown (a linked banner ad no less, presumably free to House, but a sensible alternative to having to provide the publication with specimens and/or fonts, which is a real chore for the foundry/designer as well as the publication).

But bootleg Fontographer? With that skeleton out of the closet it'll be tough to run for office...

I aim to please.
