November 19, 2002 Emigre’s New Catalogue Emigre’s latest catalog is bigger and better than ever: 36 pages, tabloid-sized. Supposedly they’ve skipped one issue of Emigre the magazine to work on this baby, and it shows. The typesetting is amazing and shows off the breadth and depth of the Emigre line. But, I ask you, is it really anything we haven’t seen before? Posted by Glutton | LINK | Comments (7)Frankfurter, Anyone? Two swedish companies that seem to share the same fondness for seventies modernism, Fellow Designers and Sweden Graphics, show us work with inspiration drawn from childrens’ tv shows, suburban housing projects and political poster art. Their work may be a tad more ironic than my nostalgic eye wants to admit, but it is at least refreshingly free from stereotypical abba-isms. If you are curious how life could be in the seventies, it hardly gets more affectionately described as in the Together, for which Fellow, coincidentally, did the promotional materials.
