Henry Morris and the Bird & Bull Press

Henry Morris nominally established his press in 1958 when he began to experiment with hand papermaking; eventually, his business developed into one of the finest (and smallest) fine-press publishers in the world. Specializing primarily in books about books, Bird & Bull produces beautifully typeset and well-bound volumes, including The Booksellers of San Serriffe, a complement to Bachaus’ 1980 Private Presses of San Serriffe, both volumes being certain to interest anyone familiar with that “legendary republic.” 185 copies of this volume, attractively bound in 1/4 morocco and placed in a cloth-covered slipcase, are available for $300 per; this and other recent and available books are listed on the Press’ very recently-established website, a surprising development from a gentleman who eschews much modern technology.
