Very cool find! I have it running on my desktop now, however I am afraid it is going to become quite the distraction.
It’s something like LettError’s ClockPix that seems to be discontinued.
It also makes me think of the Industrious Clock at yugop.com (which I now realize did the amaztype thing I wrote about here recently).
I have this running, it’s very arty cool. Bit distracting as my eye notices the image change while i’m working. Though I have dual monitors at work so it’s always visible
Now my life is more complete. Thanks.
i love that it says, “mac users see special instructions below,” and then there aren’t any, but it has the windows instructions twice.
Whoops. I think you missed something G. You click on the old-school MacOS icon for the Mac instructions.
Foiled again! How is it that one can expose oneself as a non-mac user so regularly and so thoroughly. Damn cute little icons. Nice clock, worth the embarrassment.
Does it show a different pic for each second?
No. It changes once a minute.
If you think about it, coming up with a unique image for every second would be a staggering task. It repeats the images every twelve hours, but even so, that would mean taking 43200 photos. The clock as it is uses 720. That’s still a big job if you ask me.
Plus, by changing only once a minute, it gives you time to appreciate the photos.
Darn nice!
My favorites so far are 1:00 and 7:11.
Thanks for the treat.
Michael
Speaking of nice typographic clocks have you ever come across FLIQLO? It’s a free flip-style “pata-pata” screensaver clock. I have had it on my home computer for ages and it still brings me comfort.
