Type Week in New York kicks off today with Rob Walker’s “Consumed” column in the New York Times Magazine, which introduces the rest of the world to our industry’s beloved Bello font.
Events during the week include:
- TypeCon (Including a free Business and Technology forum featuring speakers Matthew Carter, Jon Coltz, Gerry Leonidas, Gary Munch, Adam Twardoch, Tiffany Wardle, and representatives from Adobe, Linotype, Monotype, MyFonts, P22, and FontLab.)
- Underware’s TypeRadio (free)
- TDC Exhibition at Cooper Union (free)
- FiFFteen with opening night speakers Erik Spiekermann and Neville Brody (free)
- FontHunt (free)
- Tours of typographic sites such as the Grolier Club, the American Bible Society, Center for Book Arts, and the NYT press, and (contrary to the UnBeige post) Paul Shaw’s walking tour of New York lettering. (free)
