Missale Incana is the latest release from the all-OpenType, all-the-time astype foundry, a.k.a. Andreas Seidel, in Cottbus, Germany. It is a redesigned version of a face from Herbert Thannhaeuser, who designed numerous faces for the old East German foundry Typoart, much of whose catalog remains regrettably unknown to this day in the West.
The titling face includes numerous OpenType features and a herd of ornaments, with some lovely examples in the specimen. It can be purchased through myfonts.com or directly through astype. Other Thannhaeuser designs include his Fraktur now available from FVL, and his Magna and Garamond no. 5, available from Elsner+Flake.

Wow – very classy.

Marvellous example of the pen as natural and direct design tool, translated into the digital. Marvellous and irresistable.
Hrant, did you get the ‘gallery image’ sample from the Myfonts page?
I was looking at the PDF.

If it’s the Faust thing, the same image appears in both.
