Among other specials at PSY/OPS, all 21 fonts in Stefan Hattenbach’s Sophisto system are going for $135. After using Sophisto on a couple projects, I can speak to its quality from personal experience. It’s an excellent set of cuts and complementary dings.
In other PSY/OPS news, the site now offers ScreenTest!, a Flash-based font tester.

Thank you Stpehen for kind words on Sophisto. Comments from designers is one of the best ways of finding out whether the typeface works in “daily life” or not. Regarding the special price, It’s been around from the start. Psy/Ops like to praise those “early adaptors” wiht h a lower price.

As long they’re not type designers! Too often the more “expert” they are the worse the critique. (But Carter for one is a notable exception.)

I don’t mind getting constructive feedback even from a type designer ;-). Most times type designers also do graphic design as a profession (like myself).

But you will note that this is not true at the very top of the game. I think it’s because the two activities are actually very different*, and it’s rare to find somebody with both skill sets.
